Military Star
Q: What is MILITARY STAR doing to help cardmembers during the government shutdown?
A: The MILITARY STAR card is waiving minimum payment requirements for all active-duty service members, Guard members and Reservists, regardless of branch of service, during the government shutdown. Interest will accrue, and cardmembers can voluntarily make payments.

Q: How long will the minimum-payment waiver be in effect?
A: The payment waiver begins on Friday October 10, 2025, and will remain in effect as long as military pay cycles are impacted by the government shutdown. Once normal pay cycles resume, all subsequent statements will again require the minimum payment due.

Q: What about cardmembers who aren’t active-duty, Guard members or Reservists? What are you doing for them?

A: Other cardmembers experiencing hardship during the shutdown can contact 877-891-7827 to discuss options.

Q: Will missed payments be reported to the credit bureaus?
A: There will be no adverse reporting.

Q: Do cardmembers who are currently delinquent but whose accounts are not in collections qualify?
A: Active-duty service members, Guard members and Reservists who are delinquent will qualify—but penalty APRs remain in effect.

Q: Do accounts that are in collections qualify?
A: Accounts in collections do not qualify for this offer. Please contact 877-891-7827 to discuss options.

Q: Why not automatically apply to all accounts? Why only active-duty, Guard and Reserve?

A: This offer is limited to individuals impacted by the government shutdown. Contacting the Exchange Credit Program’s contact center at 877-891-7827 is necessary to confirm eligibility.

Q: What is being waived?
A: Beginning with MILITARY STAR statements cycling on October 10, 2025, active-duty service members, Guard members and Reservists will automatically have their minimum payment requirement waived. Other cardmembers who are experiencing financial hardship may contact the MILITARY STAR Contact Center at 877-891-7827 for assistance.

Q: When does this offer take place and how long will it remain in effect?
A: The payment waiver begins on Friday, October 10, 2025, and will remain in effect as long as military pay cycles are impacted by the government shutdown. Once normal pay cycles resume, all subsequent statements will again require the minimum payment due.

Q: I am an active-duty cardmember and already received my October 2025 statement (which cycled prior to October 10, 2025). Do I still need to make my minimum payment?
A: Yes. But if you are experiencing financial hardships, please call the MILITARY STAR Contact Center at 877-891-7827 for assistance.

Q: If I don’t make a payment, will my account be delinquent or hurt my credit score?
A: No. MILITARY STAR has authorized this waiver, and no adverse credit reporting will occur for the waived payment.

Q: Will I be charged any late fees?
A: No. MILITARY STAR does not charge late fees—one of the unique benefits of the program.

Q: Will skipping this payment cause my interest rate to increase?
A: No. The waiver will not trigger any penalty APR or rate increases.

Q: Can I still make a payment if I choose to?
A: Yes. Cardmembers may continue making payments.

Q: Will my account still accrue interest?
A: Yes. Interest will continue to accrue as outlined in your MILITARY STAR Card Terms and Conditions.

Q: If I skip my payment, can I still make purchases with my MILITARY STAR card?
A: Yes, as long as your account remains in good standing and you have available credit.

Q: I have a Pay Your Way balance that requires a minimum monthly payment. Do I still need to pay it?
A: No. MILITARY STAR is waiving the Pay Your Way minimum payment and has paused the payment period during this program.

Q: Do accounts currently in collection status qualify for this program?
A: No. Accounts in collection status are not eligible for this program.

Q: Do I need to register or opt in for this temporary program?
A: Active-duty service members, Guard members and Reservists are automatically included in the program. Other cardmembers experiencing financial hardship can contact the MILITARY STAR Contact Center at 877-891-7827 for assistance.

Q: I missed my payment last month (before the program started) and received 30 days late notice. Can I still participate?
A: Yes.

Q: I set up automatic payments in the MILITARY STAR mobile app. Will those payments continue?
A: This will depend on how the cardmember has set up their automatic payment. If they have selected to ONLY automatically pay the minimum amount due, then because the minimum due has been waived, it will not pull the automatic payment. However, if the customer has established an automatic payment with an amount other than the minimum amount due, then that automatic payment will continue.
